Texas H2Oasis has a mission - or three to be exact:
The purposes of the educational
segment are to provide holistic, environmental information to the
public via seminars, formal classes, field classes, informal training, and
private consultation; create written, audio, visual, and virtual (Internet)
educational matter; create an informational learning center to be used by
adults and children, including, but not limited to, Texas Master Naturalists,
Texas Master Gardeners, birders, nature/landscape artists, Girl Scouts, Boy
Scouts, and any other groups seeking raised environmental awareness; create an
educational facility for the instruction of land restoration, springs/creek
recovery, water conservation, rainwater collection, self-sustaining,
environmental stewardship, holistic land management, sustainable agricultural
practices, wildlife management, and backyard/community wildlife-habitat
creation.
Segment II: Restore / Manage the Land and Water Resources
The purposes
of the land-restoration and water-resource management segment are to
provide land restoration; springs/creeks recovery; rain-water collection for
land/animal usage; self-sustaining, environmental stewardship; holistic land
management; and sustainable agricultural practices, via methods such as crop
rotation, organic soil replenishment, and stock rotation to supply home-grown
food for wildlife sustenance.
Segment III: Create a Wildlife Refuge
The purposes of the wildlife-refuge segment are to provide a wildlife refuge; a safe haven for migratory birds along flight paths; balanced predator/prey interaction; wetlands for amphibians and fowl; water resources for all wildlife, including fish and shellfish; and animals for land management. In Phase III, create a domesticated-animal shelter for stray-animal adoption, not breeding, with a strict spay/neuter policy.
Texas H2Oasis' Mission Completed in Three PhasesTexas H2Oasis will accomplish this three-goal mission in three phases:
Phase I
Educate the public and purchase the land.
Phase II
Educate the public; restore/manage the land and water resources; manage wildlife; and create a facility for public education.
Phase III
Educate the public; manage the land, water resources, and wildlife; manage the facility; and create a domesticated-animal shelter.
